“When I first came to Canada, I had mixed feelings. I was happy to be in a beautiful country, but also, initially, I was feeling a bit homesick. I was missing my friends, I was missing back home.

I think when I came to Canada the biggest challenge was finding a job. Focus for Ethnic Women gave me a direction to my job search. They have helped me make my resume to the Canadian standards. Also, they have taught me how to project myself successfully to the Canadian employer.

I enjoy the fact that the Skills Unlimited program has a holistic approach. They not only teach you about employment, but also about Canadian culture. You get to meet new people from different backgrounds. I made new friends. I feel like it’s more of a family here for me.”
